Ilitch partner could serve four months in jail and up to two years probation

According to reports in The White Mountain Independent Detroit businessman Michael Malik was found guilty this month of illegal discharge of a firearm in Arizona.

The White Mountain Independent reports Arizona law make it illegal to discharge a firearm within a quarter-mile of an occupied residence while taking wildlife without permission.

Under Arizona Revised Statute 17-309 A 4, it is illegal to discharge a firearm within a quarter-mile of an occupied residence while taking wildlife without permission. It is considered an offense, punishable by up to $750 in fines plus 80 percent in surcharges, up to four months in jail and up to two years probation.

Malik is Mrs. Marian Ilitch's casino gaming partner. Ilitch owns Detroit's MotorCity Casino, Little Caesars Pizza and the Detroit Red Wings NHL franchise.
