The International Composite Institute of Michigan focuses on training interested parties in obtaining licenses in creating thermoplastic composites. He described the many uses of FiberForm (a mixture of plastic and fiberglass). It is being researched to open this training facility to provide instruction at the high school level. Eastern Upper Peninsula (EUP) Employment and Training Consortium is known
now as Michigan Works! The agency covers Chippewa, Luce and Mackinac Counties working together to provide employment and training, education and community corrections programs and services to their residents.
EUP Michigan Works! offer a resource room with an array of self-help information, and special programs for adults, dislocated workers, economically disadvantaged youth, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and people who are trying to move from welfare to work.
Most of the funding for Michigan Works! comes through federal or state grants administered by the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
