Marian Ilitch said family would avoid using one business venture to prop up another, is that true?

from an Associated Press story:

"The family bought the Tigers for $82 million in 1992. The team is now worth $239 million, according to Forbes. Speaking after a recent Michigan gaming board meeting, Marian Ilitch said that when possible, the family tries to avoid using one of its ventures to prop up another. 'We've had a philosophy that each entity must stand on its own,' she said."

The question is how is Mike Ilitch paying for the big player salaries and contracts the Tigers, and the Red Wings, have committed to the last year or two?

After all, MotorCity Casino represents nearly one third of the total $1.5 billion net revenue reportedly generated annually by Ilitch Holdings, Inc. affiliates. Clearly the casino and other gambling interests are subsidizing other Ilitch Holdings, Inc. ventures.

The question is, which other ventures are benefiting from the Ilitch gambling income?
